my super man...

Last Monday was our anniversary and an obvious day to be aware of and remember what a gift my husband is to me. Yesterday however was not our anniversary or any sort of special day but I was and still am overwhelmed by God’s gift to me in this amazing man. Just thought I’d share. ;-)

We had a very busy weekend—a fun one full of many opportunities to fellowship with friends, family, and enjoy watching God’s plan for our weekend prove to be better than our own. However at the end of it I was so sad that it was over and that Andree was going to have to go back to work. (Of course I did too but I work from home. It’s rather lonely some times when Andree is gone for almost 12 hours being a super hard-working man!) I was being emotional and foolish but I really was sad that we were going to have to be apart after such a busy weekend.

On top of that our house was a mess. New Attitude and then our anniversary weekend both of which were followed by very busy work weeks for us really gave a beating to the Love Nest. It was bad enough that even dishes were backing up—which thankfully for us is a rarity. (It’s a pet peeve of mine I think.) The daunting task of getting the house back to cleanliness and order was intimidating to me. I felt like I didn’t even know where or how to start because there was just so much to do and clean.

My darlingest of darling husbands took off from work yesterday to recuperate from allergies—and to serve his wife! I can’t tell you how much it blessed me to have him “within hugging distance” as I went about my work day. It was a joy to make us both lunch even we were both working on projects while we ate and weren’t exactly eating together. Even more of a blessing was the work Andree did around the house. He vacuumed, he put together a shelving unit, he unloaded and loaded the dishwasher, he scrubbed the bath tub and the bathroom floor (and I mean scrubbed! You can still smell the cleaner!) The work that still needs to be done to get our home back “in order” is no longer a daunting task to me. Lord willing, by the end of the week it’ll be back to its usual cozy state. My husband is the greatest servant I know and it was overwhelming to be the beneficiary of his serving in this way.

My love, thank you!! Thank you times a million! I am encouraged and inspired to “be domestic” and finish the work you started for me in cleaning the house. Thank you for working so hard simply to bless me. Thank you for loving me enough to be patient with me and my silly fussiness and smile and hug me. I am so provoked by the way you lived out God’s command to you to “live with your wife in an understanding way” (1 Peter 3:7) towards me yesterday. I am a blessed woman to have such a man for a husband. Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the 372 we’d been married. I love you more today than I did yesterday!

I can completely relate to the 12 hour work days! I think every Monday morning I wake up and look at Dave and tell him he needs to work at home today! But, God supplies His grace and it's such a priveledge we have to make our homes havens for our hard working husbands. Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job making Andre a wonderful home!
